Hilary Roper has had national Press reviews by the Guardian for three major Art Exhibitions.She has designed greeting cards for Royle Press London and illustrated for Smith & Settle Press, Yorkshire; their Yorkshire Journals and a book entitled 'Walking in Nidderdale.' Her first children's book called 'Macfaddion's Finest Hour' was chosen by the nominated for the Children's Book of the Year Award by Lancashire Children's Librarian's Association in 1991, and Prince Charles recommended the set of illustrations to be exhibited with the National Trust.Hilary Has taught English up to 'A' Level in schools and phonics to many children privately. She believes in phonics and has incorporated some phonetic patterning in 'Surtsey the Cat.'
