Back to School can be quite scary especially if there's a bully waiting for you!
Going back to school can be great; you get to see your friends and maybe even meet new people. However, not everyone shares in this excitement, due to the fear of being bullied. That’s why we decided it was time to get a bit more serious this month, and approach what can be a very difficult subject for some children. Bullying is a huge issue, which is why we feel it is necessary to dedicate the whole month of September to raising awareness about this problem. Therefore, we’d like to do whatever possible to prevent it, as well as help those who are victims.
At some point, most of us have to deal with bullying and it’s horrible. At the time, it feels like you can’t turn to anyone and you’re trapped. But we’d like you all to know, we’re here to listen! If you need support let us know and we’ll be a friendly ear. Or, if you have managed to finally be rid of your bully let us know your story! The best way to stop bullying is to show our support for those who deal with it on a daily basis.
Whether or not you are the victim, the bully, or a witness, it’s time to make a change. Far too often we see and let bullying happen, all because fear stops us from standing up for what’s right. But we need to make a difference! We need to inspire children, young and old, into understanding that courage can be your greatest ally when being bullied. This doesn’t mean violence, this means having the courage to tell someone who can make a difference and looking for help in the right places.
If you need help ask! We want to reassure you that no one will make fun of you for trying to get help. Don’t change who you are for a bully, don’t let a bully stop you from doing what you want to do and most impor- tantly, don’t stand for bullying!
