There's a Werewolf in my Tent! - Review

I defy anyone, and I mean anyone not to laugh at this brilliant series from Pamela Butchart.

This is the sixth book about Izzy and her friends and it’s another cracker. This time they get the very exciting news that they are going away on a school trip, camping for four whole days! This is surely going to be amazing! They’ve never gone on a trip where they get to stay overnight before and they are all very excited to eat marshmallows and practise their survival skills.

However, as always, nothing is straight forward for Izzy and her friends. They arrive at the campsite and set up their tent, but there’s something very suspicious about their new PE teacher, Miss Moon, and it isn’t long before they realise all the evidence points towards her being a werewolf! Now the whole trip is consumed with them trying to stop Miss Moon from making the turn during the next full moon, but when Izzy realises that her best friend Jodie has been infected with werewolfism too, can they save them both and stop them from gobbling up their class mates?

There’s a Werewolf in my Tent! is an absolute riot and I can thoroughly recommend it for middle grade readers. There inside pageare lots of fun illustrations along the way to help break up the text and all the action, mystery and silliness makes it a real page-turner. Children that are inside pagesjust starting to read independently will find it manageable, and those that are more confident with reading will be equally engaged by the storyline.

The good thing about this series is, you can pick up any book and it doesn’t matter if you haven’t read the previous one. But once you have read one I’m pretty sure you are going to want to read them all!

Thanks to the fab people at Nosy Crow we have this brilliant activity sheet to download and join in the camping trip fun! Click here to get started!
