2 children’s books by the writer
Author Susan Chodakiewitz is also a composer and lyricist. Before becoming a children's picture book author Susan wrote and produced musical theater. But tucked in the back of her mind was the dream of becoming a children's book author some day. Too Many Visitors for One Little House is Susan's debut picture book. The story was inspired by the crazy summer that she and her family moved into their new house in Beverly Hills and everyone decided to come for a visit at the same time. All-in-all there were 22 visitors staying with them for the summer and the house was rollicking. With the launching of her company Booksicals - Encouraging Reading through the Arts, Susan combines her love for children's books with her passion for musical theater by bringing her picture books to life in live musical performances, musical DVD's and dance videos for kids. Too Many Visitors for One Little House Susan is currently performed by the Booksicals Repertory Company at schools, libraries, museums, bookstores and special events. "I believe you can develop a child's love for reading by expanding the world of a book beyond its pages. If you can bring the characters to life through music, song, crafts, dance, and theater you can bring reading to life. " And this is precisely what inspired her to create Booksicals. Susan is currently working on 2 new picture books and a sequel to Too Many Visitors. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and Dalmatian and is the proud mother of 3 wonderful sons.
